Founded in 2003, Adirondack Retro began as an e-commerce pioneer in vintage media—shipping over 50,000 packages worldwide through eBay and our own early website. What began as a passion for laserdisc cover art evolved into a lifelong appreciation for the illustration, typography, and design that defined historic print media.

That passion led to the formal establishment of Adirondack Retro, with a mission to systematically acquire, digitize, and curate an expansive archive of antique books, vintage magazines, and diverse paper ephemera. Our goal has always been to make these extraordinary visual records accessible beyond archival storage—ensuring that significant artwork is seen, studied, and appreciated.

In August 2022, Adirondack Retro grew even further with the acquisition of Darvill’s Rare Prints, expanding our inventory to over 500,000 authentic items. This integration strengthens our position as one of the most comprehensive online archives of historical print material.
