Sherman F. Denton Fish Prints

Sherman Foote Denton was born in Wellesley, MA in 1856, (d. 1937).  S.F. Denton is best known in the art world for his "Denton Fish Prints", which became the standard by which all subsequent fish prints were judged.

The State of New York Fisheries, Game and Forest Commission hired Denton to illustrate their annual reports between 1895 and 1909. Denton's Exquisite chromolithographs documented nearly 100 species of fish and various other types of wildlife from North America. His works can be found in several antique books published in Albany, New York, but the Portfolio Version of the Seventh Report is the most sought after version of his work.

Adirondack Retro is proud to offer the Portfolio Version of Denton Fish Prints, with each one professionally matted in a choice of tan or black mat. You can browse our vast selection of Matted Antique Denton Fish Prints by clicking HERE.
